Vodafone to spend GBP 1 bln on share buyback
Vodafone Group has announced plans to spend GBP 1 billion buying back its own shares. The mobile operator said the decision comes in response to the market reaction to its interim trading statement, which saw its share price drop almost 14 percent in one day after the company reported slowing sales growth. Vodafone will seek approval at the shareholders meeting on 29 July to continue with the share repurchase.
